Noosa National Park Tour

Chiyoda Students enjoyed the peaceful side of Noosa

It was a little cloudy but a cool day as the students explored Noosa National Park in the hope to spot a koala, cockatoos, lizards and other wildlife creatures. The boys had a snake slither across the track in front of them, which they didn’t like very much!! The park also has amazing coastal scenery and the students had fun playing on the beach,  on the right day you can watch dolphins playing in the waves.

Taking it easy on Noosa River

A beautiful day for a river Cruise!

Chiyoda students had a relaxing afternoon as they took in the sights of the beautiful homes on the Noosa River onboard the awesome Rainbow boat!  What a day, wish every school day was this good!  The students took many photos and where very impressed with the Noosa life style.

Chiyoda students learn the Didgeridoo!

Scott from Bushlab Australia welcomed the students to the world of Aboriginal music.

Scott is an adopted son of a local tribe where he learnt the art of playing the didgeridoo, he now shares his knowledge with others from around the world. Chiyoda students had fun making strange noises as they tried to blow wind through the instrument and breath at the same time. Some students were actually very good and can take this new talent back to Japan!

Our Young Swiss Students!

Kristina and Adina came to Noosa with their mother Carmen for 6 months from Switzerland.

While Carmen studies at Global Village Noosa, Kristina and Adina go to local school here in Noosa. Their eyes were sparkling when they saw their new uniform! They never had one at home.

It has been about a month since their arrival. They have settled in class and have made many friends. Kristina has been a buddie to one of Chiyoda students and even helping students from another country!

Carmen says…It’s great to be here and we really enjoy this new experience. Both children like their new school. They’re open to new teaching methods and cope well with upcoming minor problems. They’re very happy and will never forget the “Noosa lifestyle”. They especially like the beaches and the opportunity to do so many sports outdoors!

Thank you again to Peregian Beach College taking our international junior students and giving a great care!

Japanese Tea Ceremony

Chiyoda students share a cultural experience

Peregian Beach College students were surprised to take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony that Chiyoda students performed on Friday. The taste was a little unusual for the PBC students but they were happy to give it a go! Thank you Chiyoda students!

Chiyoda students attend Australian lessons

Friday afternoon chiyoda students experienced Australian lessons at Peregian Beach College.

Chiyoda students were divided into 3 classes, Prep class with the littlies, sports on the main field and art class. All students had a great experience seeing what Australian students do in class. The Aussie kids were very excited to have the Chiyoda students join them and were very keen to learn from the Chiyoda students!

Chiyoda’s Canoeing Noosa River Experience!

Student’s had a fantastic time exporing the Noosa River by canoe.

It was a beautiful sunny day for students to have fun on the water! It was challanging paddling against the wind but Marty did a great job helping lead the group across the river. Students were then able to explored the sand islands, run around on the islands, play in the water and then paddle back to the meeting point.

A fun time with ice creams on the beach before catching the bus home!

Beach safety activity

Being a life guard for a day!

Chiyoda students had the chance to experience what it is like to be a life guard at Noosa Main Beach. The students were given a talk on beach safety which included where to swim, how to enter the water, and things to look out for! The students then grabbed a body board to ride the waves “surf club style”  and played with other surf club toys before finishing their day with a tour of the surf club.

Beach life is a big part of Australian life and now Chiyoda students feel comfident swimming and playing at the Sunshine Coast’s many beautiful beaches!

Integration Day!

Chiyoda students attended buddies’ lesson for the first time.

Peregian Beach Students are very friendly and all helped Chiyoda students in their classes.

They attended math, science, middle school classes and year 5 & 6 classes

They will have group integration on Fridays. It will be time for Chiyoda students to show Japanese art and games to Australian students.

Chiyoda students formally welcomed at Peregian Beach College

Mr. Shirly, head of college at Peregian Beach College formally welcomed Chiyoda students.

Students went for a campus tour with map in hand and learned the names of the building with Mr. Philp, who organized the groups stay at Peregian Beach College. They met their buddies during lunch time. Both Chiyoda students and Peregian Beach College students were very nervous. But they were all friends in 2 minutes. First meeting with Buddies turned into a dance party for some students…

Chiyoda students left for Noosa local tour. It was raining, however, a big OZ size ice cream kept them HAPPY!

Chiyoda students will go to lessons at school with their buddies tomorrow! Good Luck Chiyoda students! It will be a great experience to be exposed to the different style of learning. I am sure they will love real OZ style learning!

We would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Shirly and Mr. Philp who made it possible for Chiyoda students to have such a great experience with the students from Peregian Beach College!

It had been a very long trip for the students and they were all happy for an early night. The earliest bed time was 7:30pm!
