Lexis Perth – TAP is off to a flying start

As we enter week three of our Teenage Activity Program here in Perth the students have settled into class and are excelling in their English learning. They are not only building friendships and confidence, but they are having a wonderful time exploring Western Australia. The students have been exploring, creating, and embracing the very best of what Perth has to offer. We have had three gorgeous students for the first two weeks and welcomed five new TAP students for week 3.

Each day has brought something new and different, from tasting Australian food, to meeting Australian animals and learning how to play the Didgeridoo. Students have used their curiosity, enthusiasm and sense of adventure to make every activity even more special.

Aussie food tasting and Australian craft

The students took a flavourful journey Down Under! Some of the delights they tasted were Vegemite on toast, lamingtons, Tim Tams, meat pies and Shapes. The lamington got the highest score, and the students decided that Vegemite wasn’t to their taste!

Scitech – Perth’s very own science center

Western Australia’s premier interactive science center was perfect for our curious TAP students. It was the perfect escape from the wet weather and the students enjoyed the world class planetarium.

Caversham Wildlife Park

Caversham Wildlife Park offered the TAO students a truly hands-on experience with some of Australia’s most iconic animals. From feeding kangaroos in open enclosures to cuddling koalas and meeting wombats, the park is packed with interactive encounters that delighted the students. Below is a photo of them with the famous wombat!

Kings Park

Kings Park is one of the world’s largest inner-city parks, offering stunning views of the Perth skyline and Swan River. It’s a peaceful escape with lush gardens, bushland trails and the spectacular Western Australian Botanic Garden, showcasing native plants and wildflowers. The teenagers were surprisingly interested in all the flowers and loved the experience.

The adventure didn’t end there, they also visited the aquarium AQWA, went bowling, visited the museum and learnt to play the didgeridoo……
