Week 2 Adventures: Secret Beaches, Boomerangs & the Blue Mountains!

After an exciting first week settling into life at Lexis, our Teenage Activity Program (TAP) students were ready to dive into Week 2 — and it did not disappoint! With new friendships forming, confidence growing, and sunny skies above, the week was all about exploring, creating, and embracing the very best of what Sydney has to offer.
Each day brought something new and different, from peaceful beachside walks and cultural crafts to energetic games and breathtaking natural wonders. Whether it was their first time holding a paddle, painting a boomerang, or hiking through the bush, our students showed up with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a sense of adventure that made every activity even more special.
Check out more of their exciting adventures below!

SIGHTSEEING FUN: Exploring Manly’s Secret Beaches!
We kicked things off with a Secret Beaches Walk, where students discovered some of Sydney’s hidden coastal gems. With crystal-clear water, golden sands, and epic ocean views, it felt like our own private paradise. We also stopped at one of the local park, and had loads of fun on the swings. There were plenty of photo ops, good vibes, and even a beautiful waterfall!

CREATIVE AFTERNOONS: Boomerang Painting!
Next up, we added a creative and cultural twist with Boomerang Painting. Students had the chance to design and decorate their very own boomerangs, while learning about their deep cultural significance. More than just a traditional hunting tool, the boomerang is a powerful symbol of Indigenous Australians’ enduring connection to the land and their rich, ancient heritage. As students explored the history and meaning behind this iconic object, they also tapped into their artistic sides — using bold colours, traditional patterns, and personal touches to create truly one-of-a-kind keepsakes. It was a meaningful and memorable blend of learning and creativity.

ACTIVE AFTERNOONS: Soccer Tournament
Midweek brought out our competitive spirit with a thrilling Soccer Tournament! ⚽ Students formed teams and hit the field with loads of energy, ready to showcase their skills and have some fun. It wasn’t just about goals (though there were some seriously impressive ones!) — it was about teamwork, encouragement, and building connections across different cultures and languages. Cheering squads brought the hype from the sidelines, and every player gave it their all. Whether students were seasoned soccer stars or just giving it a go for the first time, the tournament created a fun, inclusive atmosphere that had everyone smiling — and a little sweaty by the end!

ACTIVE AFTERNOONS: Awesome Kayak Tour!
Next, we cooled off with a scenic Kayak Tour, paddling through calm, sparkling waters surrounded by nature. For many students, this was their very first time in a kayak — and they absolutely loved it. Gliding past lush bushland, spotting birds and fish, and soaking up the Aussie sunshine made it a peaceful yet exciting afternoon. There were plenty of laughs, a few playful splashes, and even a race or two as students got the hang of paddling in sync. It was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the outdoors from a whole new perspective.

FULL DAY TRIP – Exploring the beautiful Blue Mountains!
To finish off the week, we set off on a full-day adventure to the iconic Blue Mountains and what a day it was! Students marveled at the stunning views from Echo Point, where the legendary ‘Three Sisters’ rock formations. We ventured into forest trails surrounded by eucalyptus trees, learned about ancient rock formations and Aboriginal stories tied to the land, and even stopped by a waterfall or two. With crisp mountain air, incredible scenery, and plenty of chances for photos (and snacks!), it was a day filled with discovery and awe!

Week 2 was unforgettable, a perfect mix of culture, creativity, sport, nature, and connection. From painting boomerangs to exploring the beautiful scenery of Sydney – our students made memories to last a lifetime. Who’s next? We’re ready for more laughs, adventures, and amazing memories with our next group of Lexis legends joining our TAP Program in July/August. Bring it on!
