The Fun and Adventures Continue in Week 2
Noosa is the perfect place for students to explore, learn, and have a great time. For their final week with us, our TAPs got top continue living the Australian dream and experiencing life down under. Here’s what we got up to:
Monday
On Monday, we welcomed 4 new students from Japan to our Teen Activity Programme: Sota, Toranosuke, Yuzuki and Reo and they joined up with those from week 1.
After classes on Monday, our TAPs made the short walk from our Noosa campus to Laguna Lookout, nestled in the Noosa National Park. From here you get breathtaking views over Noosa and can marvel at the scenery of the Sunshine Coast. It was a glorious sunny day and was the perfect spot to snap some pictures to send home! After enjoying the view, we went to cool off with another trip to Hastings Street and Yo-Chi.

Tuesday
On Tuesday, we experienced one of Australia’s favourite pastimes: Surfing. For many of our TAPs, it was their first experience of surfing and it will be one they remember forever. It was tricky to master but with the help of the surf instructors at Merrick’s Learn to Surf Noosa, our TAPs quickly perfected their skills and were standing on waves before they knew it. It was so much fun and a great experience for the TAPs.

Wednesday
After class on Wednesday, we got creative and learned about an integral part of Australian history and culture by painting our very own boomerangs. We learned of traditional patterns and designs and incorporated them into our own ideas to create unique boomerangs that the TAPs could take home as mementos of their time in Australia.

Thursday
On Thursday, our TAP students went to the supermarket to load up on food and took it to the local park to host their very own Aussie BBQ. There’s not many things more Australian than frying up some sausages on the communal barbecues and our TAPs prepared a feast for the whole school. We also cooked up some Kangaroo steaks for the TAPs to try!

Friday
To round off two incredible weeks of English classes and activities, our TAPs headed over to Boardwalk Boat Hire to take on stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. The river was perfectly still and we had a great time exploring the inlets and splashing around in the water. It was an unforgettable way to end the two weeks and our TAPs return to Japan with a new found understanding and love for Australia and the life we live here.

We want to say thank you to our students who joined our Teenage Activity Programme and we wish them all the best for the future and we hope to see them back in Noosa some day soon!
