What an amazing start we’ve had to our brand-new Urban X Junior Program!
On Monday, we were excited to welcome 17 students as they arrived in Perth to begin an action-packed two-week adventure. Designed to give students a unique Australian experience while developing new skills and building confidence, the Urban X Junior Program combines creativity, movement, and culture in an unforgettable way.
Over the course of the program, students will experience an exciting mix of activities including skateboarding, parkour, graffiti art, woodwork, hip hop dance, and much more. Every day is designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and stepping outside of their comfort zones.
The first few days have certainly delivered!
After arriving on Monday, students settled in and met their welcoming homestay families, giving them the opportunity to experience authentic Australian family life. It’s been wonderful to see new friendships already forming and students embracing this exciting new environment.
To kick off the adventure, the group explored Perth through a fun city-wide scavenger hunt. Working together to solve clues and discover some of Perth’s iconic landmarks, students quickly got to know both the city and each other.
One of the highlights so far has been everyone’s introduction to skateboarding. Whether it was their first time stepping on a board or they already had some experience, students showed fantastic enthusiasm, resilience, and plenty of smiles as they learned new skills and encouraged one another.
With so many exciting activities still to come—including parkour sessions, graffiti workshops, woodwork projects, and hip hop dance classes—we can’t wait to see what the next week brings.
A huge thank you to our wonderful host families, instructors, and staff who have helped make the start of the program such a success. Most importantly, congratulations to our students for embracing every challenge with energy, curiosity, and a positive attitude.
