Week 8 of TAP Noosa – Didgeridoo Lesson, TOTE Bags, Surf Life Activities, National Park, Movie & Popcorn

Monday – Didgeridoo Lesson in the Park

Our Monday here at Lexis was nothing short of laughter. We met our new students from Japan and headed to the park for a very memorable Didgeridoo Lesson. Behind the laughs and silly faces our TAPS learnt history of the wonderful instrument from each designs representation and different meanings of the sounds. It was a great start to a Monday to be surrounded by new sounds, hearing the birds in the trees and being outside in Nature.

Tuesday Make your own TOTE Bag

Our group of TAPS designed their blank canvas’ into a work of art. Whether they wanted to represent their time here in Noosa by drawing ocean waves, palm trees, koalas or more of a personal design to them – each TAP dedicated the time to sit down, relax, and design something that reflects their own experience and connection to Australia.

Wednesday – Surf Life Presentation & Activities

We were lucky enough to have a safety in the water presentation by our Volunteers at Noosa Surf Life Saving Club. Our TAPS learnt valuable knowledge that not only can they use here in Australia, but also back home. Our day also included having a different view of the beach, up top from the Lifeguard Tower! Next up, Volleyball and Body boarding. Some of our TAPS were keen to get in the water and dive into those waves, the sun was shining, the air was filled with laughter and friends made more memories by the ocean.

Thursday – Table Tennis & DIY Bracelets

Our TAPS made a new table tennis game when it came to moving around the table. By gathering round in a circle the aim of the game was to keep the ball moving whilst the circle kept moving. They planned to work together combining team work and game plan. DIY Bracelets – The students experimented with different colour combinations, patterns, and charms. Some TAPS made bracelets using their favourite colours, while others used letter beads to create names or meaningful words.

Friday – Movie & Popcorn

A day of Graduation followed by Spiderman & Popcorn – it was a Friday feeling! Congratulations to our students who have finished their time here at Lexis and graduated. Their English skills can now be shown off to their friends & family back home! To end our week, we headed to the movies, and ate a whole lot of popcorn !
